Client: TBA 21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary
Approached by TBA21, we developed an elaborate book portraying “The Morning Line” by American artist Matthew Ritchie – an internationally exhibited sound pavilion displayed in Seville, Istanbul and Vienna.
We integrated the main idea of the art work – a growth algorithm – into the design concept to reflect its parametric and complex character. The grid and the type setting scale in correspondence to the underlying shape of the sculpture – a hexagon – and its growth algorithm. The usage of different paper weights and the ensemble of formats for the book, folded newspaper, invitation folder and a limited 12" vinyl record are also based on this concept.
