Client: Oesterreichische Nationalbank / Gallister Architects
Alongside the permanent show, we were asked to design a temporary, annually changing exhibition for the Geldmuseum (money museum) in Vienna. The bank’s internal vault room serves as the exhibition space, which by definition has its own limitations, such as a low ceiling, neon lighting and glass cabinets. By collaborating with architects, we developed a flexible modular system for the window displays in order to modify the surface design and arrangements easily for future exhibitions. For the exhibition, the vault features a monochromatic palette including introductory panels, which guide the visitors through a narrow corridor into the main exhibition room.
